Property Description
These smart rural apartments are located in a more than 200 years old former monastery with typical patio, rambled stairs and a big sun terrace with excellent views to the mountains and the Atlantic ocean. The house is an example of Canarian architecture. It was completely reconstructed by the year 1996 and again renovated in 2011, conserving his original Canarian style. The touristic rental of the first apartments began in 1996.
The mostly young and international guests are using the Apartamentos Monasterio de San Antonio as perfect starting point for mountain bike and walking tours as well as for trips around the varied areas of the island.
Apartments Monasterio de San Antonio are located next to the city of Icod de los Vinos surrounded by palms and green environ, aprox. 325 meters over the Atlantic ocean. The famous dragontree and the city center are aprox. 800 meters away. Nearby there is also one of the biggest volcanic caves of the world (the Cueva del Viento). The next beach (the Playa de San Marcos) with several bars and restaurants is only 3.5 km away.
The complete restauration in 2002, respected and took over the original character and has been adapted to today's high standards (note also our site "History of the house"). Another substantial renovation was done in 2011.

This apartment is on the first floor of our house and in a rustic décor. All windows face the quiet patio. The apartment has a private balcony with sea view. The living area is divided into the dining area right on the window to the balcony, a kitchenette and the acual living area with sofa and two armchairs. This little 15 m² one-bedroom apartment is particularly suitable for young couples, who the most of their stay explore the beautiful island but also like to cook sometimes a trifle in the room. It is on the first floor and faces the main road (double glazing). The 135cm-wide bed is perfect for cuddling, and there is a small desk and a table with two comfortable chairs. The cabinet provides ample space for clothing. In the kitchenette, simple dishes can be prepared. The separate bathroom got a shower. The apartment is very well equipped. The low price is due to the situation on the street (bedroom on street level), noise pollution can not be excluded. (
